Awareness of positioning and posture is at the heart of a Yoga Practice, assisting us to move through the practice with Ease, Safety and Stability.
In this workshop Suzie will guide you through the principles of alignment that are fundamental in developing your practice. The focus will be on common asanas (poses) and kriyas (movement sequences) found in a Vinyasa Flow class. We'll use the bio-mechnaial principles of Anusara Yoga, at times working in partners and using props to break-down each asana and help you discover how each pose can feel the best in your body.
You will improve your over all yoga practice giving you a better understanding of how to move in and out of poses and to be safe during the static and dynamic phases. You will gain a greater understanding of what muscles groups are used enabling you to explore the depths of the pose which will help you to achieve balance between the front and the back of the body, the inner and outer body, right and left side and working with contraction and expansion. This leads to a fusion of the mind and heart.
