It is, indeed, a peculiar world in which we live.
War, famine, angst, ecological calamity, economic uncertainty and social disparity - if we place our attention for too long on the news of the day, this can easily define our outlook and understanding of the world within which we live.
But there is an alternative reality - Peaceful, contented humans living in harmony with nature in a society that thrives upon economic and social equality. Many of us a living in that alternative reality, it is as real of all the hyperbole of the daily news, this alternative reality begins with inner peace.
As my dear teacher Swami Satyadharma once told me, as a Yoga Teacher, you are a Teacher of the Peace. Teaching people how to live peacefully, within themselves, and within the world as it exists around them.
In an angst ridden age (it seems that angst is seemingly always present within the world of humans) - the role of a yoga teacher has never been more important.
The world needs extraordinary yoga teachers to show our fellow humans how to be sustainable, and through these efforts, how humanity can be sustainable as a whole.
Within Bamboo Yoga & the Yogic Meditation Institute we seek to train Extraordinary Yoga Teachers. Teachers who are versed deeply in the practice and theory of all aspects of yoga, who can seamlessly guide their students in a practice of hatha, vinyasa or yin yoga - teachers who deeply understand the elegance and importance of yogic philosophy, and the methodology of tantra. Our teachers are trained in leading meditation, breathwork & yoga nidra, to the level that many of them are sought out specifically to guide others in this role.
